Makes it through U.S. Open qualifying
June 4, 2024
Burmester will tee it up at the 124th U.S. Open next week after earning a spot in final qualifying at The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Burmester and David Puig (Lake Merced) were the lone LIV Golf players to advance through final qualifying on Golf's Longest Day. Burmester shot a 36-hole total of six-under-par, good enough for a T2 and to collect one of the five spots available for 73 players. The South African has really been on the rise dating bak to his back-to-back wins in his home country late in 2023. Burmester later picked up his first LIV Golf win in Miami before notching a T12 at the PGA Championship after receiving a special exemption. This ensures he will play in three straight major championships having already qualified for the Open Championship via his win at the Joburg Open. The 35-year-old will be competing this week at LIV Golf Houston.
