Is sports betting legal in Oregon?

Yes. Sports betting is legal in Oregon and can be done through the state lottery. While Oregon doesn't have an official sports betting bill, it was one of a few states grandfathered in because it was exempted from PASPA.

Oregon also had a betting game called Sports Action that shut down in 2007 without formal action. That in turn led to the state being able to offer sports gambling again without legislation and also why it's been a slow process since 2018 because new regulations have not been needed.

Sports betting was initially introduced via the state lottery app Scoreboard, provided by SBTech. However, Scoreboard was replaced bt DraftKings Sportsbook, one of the best sports betting apps, on Jan. 18, 2022.

While in-person betting is also legal, only one casino is offering sports wagering, with more likely to join in the future.

Daily Fantasy Sports and horse racing betting are also allowed. There is no bill that officially legalizes Daily Fantasy Sports in Oregon, but since they are deemed a contest of skill, they are exempt from gambling regulation. There have been fantasy sports bills introduced through the years, but nothing has gone through legislation, keeping the state in limbo.
