Enters draft
December 24, 2021
Bell announced Friday via his personal Twitter account that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at San Diego State to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Bell is set to turn 24 years old in June, so as an overage prospect, he wouldn't have much to gain by sticking around in San Diego for another year. The running back posted his best season to date in 2021 from a volume standpoint, racking up 1,098 yards and nine scores on the ground over 14 games. However, his per-game and per-carry averages saw dips from the 2020 season, when he notched 5.6 yards per tote and 91 rushing yards per contest.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2018
After missing the 2019 season due to an eye injury, Bell returned last season to record 113 carries 637 yards for 6 touchdowns and impressive 5.6 yards per carry. He's poised to lead the rushing attack for the Aztecs and get the large majority of carries.
Bell failed to qualify academically for San Diego State prior to the 2016 season, forcing him to spend his first two years of eligibility in junior college. He took full advantage of the competition, rushing for 1,217 yards and 11 touchdowns and catching 15 passes for 216 yards during his sophomore season. A strong spring showing while Tre Bryant was sidelined by a knee injury places Bell in position to contribute for the Huskers immediately this fall. Should Bryant continue to battle knee issues, look for Bell to receive the vast majority of touches in the backfield, though he should receive looks regardless. New coach Scott Frost's top running back last season at UCF ran for 780 yards and 10 touchdowns on 122 carries, though it's reasonable to anticipate additional carries later in the season when the weather turns cold in Lincoln.
