January 5, 2023
Bell announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he'll forgo is remaining eligibility at Michigan to enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
The six-foot wideout entered the 2021 season as Michigan's No. 1 receiver before suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 1. He then opted to return for his senior season in 2022 and bounced back nicely, recording 62 receptions (on 99 targets) for 889 yards and four touchdowns to go along with three rushes for 23 yards and another touchdown. Bell will finish his Wolverines career with 137 catches for 2,124 yards and seven touchdowns across 44 games.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2020
Michigan lacked a clear-cut No. 1 receiver last season after Bell, who was the team’s leading receiver with 74 receptions for 1,159 yards over the previous two seasons, suffered a torn ACL during the 2021 season-opener. Bell is on track with his offseason recovery, and he looks set to reprise this leading role in his fifth collegiate season as a result. The Wolverines’ offense struck an almost perfect balance between rushing versus passing attempts last season; likewise, the passing offense managed to find efficient success by spreading the ball around to wideout Cornelius Johnson, tight end Erick All and others. Even though former offensive coordinator Josh Gattis moved on in the offseason, there is no reason to believe that Michigan will not employ a similar approach in 2022. Nonetheless, Bell should see the lion’s share of these targets and finish the 2022 season as Michigan’s leading receiver once again.
Despite being a sophomore in an upperclassmen-laden wideout room last season, Bell topped the team in target share (20.9 percent) and finished with a team-high 48 receptions for 758 yards. Bell had a number of plays end inside the five-yard line, so it seems like only a matter of time before Bell’s touchdown total takes a jump. Among the top four players intargets last season, just Bell and Nico Collins remain in the fold after Donovan Peoples-Jones turned pro and Tarik Black transferred. This lack of positional experience heading into 2020 could position Bell for an even larger workload than the 84 targets he garnered last season. If he can slightly improve his catch rate from just 57.1 as a sophomore, Bell could have major things in store for an offense that shouldn’t see a ton of dropoff from Shea Patterson to Dylan McCaffrey (presumably) under center.
