Madsen has been recovering from knee surgery this spring, but it appears the return schedule looks promising as he should be healthy come fall. The 5-foot-10 quarterback played nine games in 2023, where he completed 81 of 132 pass attempts, with 1,191 yards and nine touchdowns, along with three interceptions. If all goes well with his recovery, the California native should have an ample opportunity for the starting spot under center, though he will have some competition from transfer quarterback Malachi Nelson.
