Rise to top continues
Tsarukyan defeated Beneil Dariush via KO (punches) at 1:04 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Well, that was terrifying. Many thought Tsarukyan was being overpriced as a -300 favorite against a highly-respected veteran, but it proved to be nowhere near a high enough price tag. Arman fired off a knee up the middle that came so fast you had to look at the replay after to see that it didn't actually land. The right hook afterwards, however, did connect and put Dariush out. The finish would go on to earn Tsarukyan a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, one of 10 post-fight bonuses given out on the evening. It all happened so quickly we didn't even get to see any of Tsarukyan's elite wrestling game. At 27 years of age, this guy is a real problem. It may take one more win because of how loaded the lightweight division is, but there's easily a scenario in which Tsarukyan fights for UFC gold at some point in 2024. Buckle up.

Slated to fight Dariush
Tsarukyan will fight Beneil Dariush at UFC Austin on Dec. 2.
ANALYSIS
Tsarukyan has won both of his last two fights dating back to December 2022, and he'll now face an opponent in Dariush who recently had an eight-bout win streak snapped at UFC 289.

Easy win as monumental favorite
Tsarukyan defeated Joaquim Silva via TKO (punches) at 3:25 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
In a fight in which he had nothing to gain and everything to lose, Tsarukyan handled his business as a -1200 favorite. It's worth noting that all three judges gave Silva the second round, meaning this fight was tied heading into the final frame, but that certainly doesn't illustrate how dominant Tsarukyan was. Outside of getting rocked by Silva late in Round 2, Arman was in control the entire way. He used his world-class grappling to pin his opponent to the mat for long stretches at a time and eventually closed the show midway through Round 3 with some terrifying ground-and-pound. Tsarukyan lost his UFC debut to current UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev back in April 2019. He's won seven of eight since. Still just 26 years of age, Tsarukyan is clearly one of the best bets moving forward at 155 pounds.

Facing Joaquim Silva
Tsarukyan will take on Joaquim Silva at the UFC event on June 17, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tsarukyan was supposed to take on Renato Moicano on April 29, but his opponent had to withdraw with a knee injury. Tsarukyan was last in the Octagon in December when he beat Damir Ismagulov by unanimous decision. Silva has scored just one win the UFC since 2018 and it came last October against Jesse Ronson.

Moicano withdraws from bout
Tsarukyan's opponent, Renato Moicano, was forced to withdraw from their April 29 bout with a knee injury, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The UFC has not made any announcement yet of a potential replacement fighter. If that does indeed happen, Tsarukyan could be moved from the main event of the April 29 card. Tsarukyan has won six of his last seven fights.
